“Mon Coeur est le Tien” is a complex film, capable of generating different emotions, in an absolutely original cinematographic journey. The “binary” structure of the film, built on an extremely simple and effective plot, allows the directors to expand the narration on different levels, thanks to a sensitive and always original writing. The film also seems to touch different suggestions and reach moments of tension of various kinds, in a splendid narrative coherence. So if the film is traversed by a sinister and disturbing sense of paranormal, we are still dragged by the profound humanity of the female character. The mastery of writing does not stop at a good characterization. The woman is a mysterious, ambiguous character, once again poised between the terrifying and the loving.
In this narrative dichotomy we reach the final peak, which reveals itself to the candle flame as a moment of truth. An instant in which life and death, terror and nostalgia seem to coincide but only for a short time.
A praise for directors, with an elegant and enveloping style.
