19 Mag “24seven” by Paolo Ferrante
“24seven” is a precious short film, due to the rarity with which it handles cinematographic material, in the stylistic and narrative way. With a fresh and forward-looking gaze, Paolo Ferrante is evidently a new talented voice in young cinema. The complex and often alienating working dynamics of the “riders” are at the center of this amazing short film set in New York. But the social drama merges and mixes with an unprecedented and always sought-after visual system, which recognizes an evident authorial identity to Paolo Ferrante. The camera is unstable, nervously follows the character between streets and apartment buildings and leads the viewer to immerse themselves in a humid and foreign metropolitan jungle, counterweight to the human search for the protagonist.
In this extremely dynamic film, built on a lively realism, the director still manages to bring out lyrical nuances of great cinematographic value. We are faced with a refined work and a director with great potential.
