31 Lug “Dominion Evolucion” by LUCAS ZOPPI
In the brief space of eight minutes, Lucas Zoppi manages to make a “gigantic” film. “Dominion Evolucion” is a short film difficult to define. Thanks to the refinement and originality of the staging, the film in fact escapes an easy cataloging. The suggestions come from numerous cinematographic genres: the sci-fi and the post-apocalyptic above all. But there is more. Zoppi’s personal aesthetic and narrative reworking makes the film a unique pearl, endowed with its own identity and substance.
The direction holds together the various suggestions and brings to completion a complex film, from all points of view of the cinematographic matter. Sounds, cinematography, (wonderful) acting mix in a disturbing and fascinating balance. Behind a visionary aesthetic system there is also a story of great depth, designed in the script phase as a precision device, destined to explode at the end with great joy of the spectators. A strong artistic maturity in Zoppi is evident: the enthusiasm of playing with cinematographic genres is in fact accompanied by a firm control and great technical skills. The result is an unmissable film.
