26 Lug “Verte” by Chisco Valdes and Alejandro Sánchez
It is very easy to make a film about the psychological consequences of social networks on young people minds and falling into the clichés of many other shorts, but in this work by Chisco Valdes and Alejandro Sánchez called Verte, a sequence of social media posts by a popular high school girl opens the door of a deep psychic and paranormal experience that becomes a thriller shorts with a lot of tension and rhythm.
Shot with a good cinematography and a very well paced editing, it is an overall very good genre film that is supported by good acting by the leading actress and by a very delicate touch. The pace becomes even more interesting in the bathroom sequence where a flickering light bulb opens the doors of the paranormal, becoming both a disturbing entity and a conceptual element of narration.
We really enjoyed watching this short and we really believe it can have a major success in genre festivals, guaranteeing a bigger production to the director in the future.
