“Lifeline” by Shuvayan Mukherjee

Lifeline is an extremely fascinating and engaging story. It is essential that authors such as Shuvayan Mukherjee still exist in contemporary cinema, who by combining a refined cinematographic vision and a special taste for narration, create practically eternal films. Lifeline is a story, in all the meanings of the term. We are faced with a cinematographic experience that resembles a modern, deeply personal and human fairy tale.

The cinema expressed by this film evidently departs from any speculative discourse and abandons itself to the pure and “ancient” charm of narration. The humanity and psychology of the protagonists is, in this sense, perfectly outlined. The writing work rests on a very fine black and white, which gives the film an extremely elegant and suspended in time aesthetic. the film has a dreamlike atmosphere, both impalpable and highly credible.
