“Talk” by Yaroslav Schcerbinin Alekseevich

Although the budget has limited the technical possibilities of “Talk”, Yaroslav Schcerbinin Alekseevich’s film shines with taste and formal beauty, demonstrating that in the cinema the gaze counts even more than money. But it is not just a formal question: cinematography and visual narration adhere perfectly to a well-written story with a deep poetic sense. The distance, represented in the form of incommunicability, in “Talk” becomes a graceful suffering, painful but languid and consequently incredibly seductive. Alekseevich does not aim to amaze but to express his vision with his whole self.

Everything therefore works in harmony, driven not by simple good taste but by a poetic necessity capable of coordinating the script, the light, the splendid interpretation of the actors and the desolating glimpses of the landscape. “Talk” is a film with a strong personality, which stands out for the strength of its expression, yet it does so with delicacy, without any search for virtuosity. Alekseevich therefore seems a mature author, despite his young age, who succeeds in the most important undertaking to become authors: to be sincere.
